Canberra Symphony Orchestra presents Rediscovering Music in Sydney supporting people with hearing loss to connect meaningfully with music, gain understanding and build community. Created for deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) adults, those with hearing aids or cochlear implants this workshop day highlights how music has a powerful emotional and uplifting impact, reduces feelings of isolation, and promotes quality-of-life. Featured performances from CSO musicians curated specifically for this audience will be facilitated by audiologist and bassoonist Kristen Sutcliffe. Lectures on sound, music, hearing, and the brain; and a lived experience Q&A panel designed to offer practical strategies, share experiences, and create community for DHH adults. Join us and engage with music in new and fulfilling ways.
It is primarily aimed at deaf and hard-of-hearing adults, but researchers and clinicians with an interest are welcome too!
